To make calculating the fees for Amazon Advantage easier, I've written this Amazon Advantage Fee Calculator. According to Amazon.com, "Amazon Advantage is a program that enables authors, musicians, filmmakers, publishers, studios, and other content providers to list and sell their products on Amazon.com right alongside products that have massive marketing and distribution." To learn more, you can read How Amazon Advantage Works. The fees charged to be part of the Advantage program are pretty straightforward and are listed on their FAQ page. They charge an annual fee of $29.95 and then 55% of the list price of every item you sell.
Since their fee structure isn't that complicated to begin with, why even make a fee calculator you ask? Well, since people typically don't use Amazon Advantage to sell one item, they use it to sell many items this calculator can help you determine what your potential profit could be from selling large numbers of items. For example, let's say you wrote a book and you used Amazon Advantage to sell 100 copies of your book for $19.95 each. How much profit would you make and how much profit would Amazon make? By using my calculator you can see that Amazon would make $1,097.25 from those 100 sales and you would make $897.75. If you want to find your true profit and even account for the annual subscription fee, you would actually be making $867.80 from those sales.
I think it's a small, simple but useful tool for those people using Amazon Advantage and who want to know their fees. The fee rate used by the calculator is also completely editable so you can type in any percentage you want, or even include extra costs or fees associated with third-party services (such as www.lulu.com).
Like my other calculators, this one comes with a reverse feature that can tell you what price you would need to sell your item for to receive the amount you want after fees.
If you have any suggestions or comments feel free to leave them on this page. I hope you enjoy!
