Visual Basic Virtual Key Codes
Posted March 25th, 2009 by Ryan Olbe Visual Basic Modules Add commentsI was recently looking online for a complete list of Virtual Key Codes I could use in Visual Basic (these are used with the keybd_event, MapVirtualKey, GetKeyState, and GetAsyncKeyState functions). I couldn't find one so I decided to make my own. Since most of the lists I found online were incomplete I went straight to the source, winuser.h, and converted these line-by-line from their original C declarations. Some additional comments and key descriptions I included are from the MSDN.

How do i use them ? i used sendkeys it didn't work
SendKeys doesn't use key codes, it uses strings. You can read more about SendKeys here...

Virtual Key Codes are usually used to determine if a particular key is being pressed down or toggled, like the CAPS LOCK key, or if you want to know if the SHIFT key is being held down as the user clicks something. You can always ask programming related questions on sites like stackoverflow.com or experts-exchange.com to get a faster response.
