PriceGrabber Storefronts Spreadsheet

This spreadsheet helps you calculate how much it would cost to sell on PriceGrabber Storefronts. You simply enter the price of your item and you can see what your fees and profit would be in a Holiday or Non-Holiday period. For advanced users, there is a way for you to reverse calculate your fees to determine what amount to charge (or what to charge for S&H) to receive the amount you want after fees. You can keep a record of your sales using the included Sales Log worksheet or print out a chart showing what your fees would be for common amounts. You can also reverse calculate price or S&H for a large number of items at once using bonus "Markup" worksheet. If PriceGrabber ever changes their fees in the future (or you want to calculate the fees for another service) you can edit all of the fee rates used by the spreadsheet using the included "Edit Fee Rates" worksheet.
Fee Calculator worksheet
The "Fee Calculator" worksheet allows you to calculate what your fees and profit would be when selling on PriceGrabber Storefronts. There are side-by-side calculators for Holiday Period and Non-Holiday Period fee rates. The boxes in yellow are what you fill in and the boxes in red and green are what the calculator fills in. You can enter:
• What you paid to acquire the item (optional)
• The price you sold the item for
• The amount you charged for Shipping & Handling
• The amount you paid in postage
The calculator will then figure out your total PriceGrabber fees and your total credit card processor fees (you can choose to enable or disable CC fees in the "Edit Fee Rates" worksheet) and your total profit from the sale.
You can reverse calculate fees by typing into the "To Receive" box. You tell the calculator the amount you want to receive after fees and it tells you what to charge for your item or what to charge for S&H to receive that amount. In effect, it incorporates all of your fees into the selling price of your item (or your S&H charge).
Sales Log worksheet
The Sales Log worksheet allows you to keep a record of all your sales on PriceGrabber Storefronts. You can enter:
• The date of the transaction
• The SKU # of the item (optional)
• The ISBN/UPC/EAN of the item (optional)
• The name of the item
• The condition of the item (optional)
• What you paid to acquire the item (optional)
• Your Selling Price
• The amount you charged for Shipping & Handling
• The amount you paid in postage
• Your buyer's name, e-mail address, and shipping information
The spreadsheet will then automatically calculate all your fees and profit and will print your "Average" and "Total" sale amounts at the top.
Fees Chart worksheet
The "Fees Chart" worksheet lets you customize and print a nicely formatted 8.5" x 11" chart showing what your fees and profit would be for common amounts when selling on PriceGrabber Storefronts. It includes both your PriceGrabber fees and your credit card processor fees. You can customize:
• Whether Holiday or Non-Holiday Fee Rates are used
• Whether the Listing Fee should be included or not
• Whether to include credit card processing fees or not (and what CC fee % should be used)
You can customize all the dollar amounts shown in the chart or you can use the built-in ones. Common item amounts from $1 to $2000 are included.
Markup worksheet
The Markup worksheet allows you to apply a certain markup percentage or amount to a large number of items at once. It can tell you what price to sell your item for or what to charge for Shipping & Handling to receive the amount you want after fees.
The spreadsheet is set up as a list and for each item in the list you can enter:
• The name of the item
• How much you paid to acquire the item
• How much you spent to ship the item (optional)
• How much you charge for S&H (optional)
• The markup you want to receive or
• The percentage markup you want to receive
The spreadsheet will tell you:
• What amount you would need to charge for S&H
What your fees, profit, and percentage profit would be if you used that S&H amount
(If the spreadsheet is doing it's job, these should equal the markup amount you specified)
OR
• What amount you would have to charge for your item
What your fees, profit, and percentage profit would be if you charged that amount
(If the spreadsheet is doing it's job, these should equal the markup amount you specified)
The spreadsheet expects you to fill in either a "Markup Amount" or a "Markup Percentage", which can be different for each item. If you enter 0 as both your "Markup Amount" and "Markup Percentage" it will calculate your break-even point.
The spreadsheet is also color-coded to make it easy to determine what you fill in and what the spreadsheet fills in. The yellow cells are what you fill in and the green and purple cells are what the spreadsheet fills in for you.
By default, the spreadsheet allows you to enter any amount in any cell giving you total freedom, even the ability to overwrite the formulas. If you'd like an extra degree of protection and have the spreadsheet prevent you from accidentally overwriting the formulas,
click on the "Tools" Menu and choose...
Tools --> Protect Document --> Sheet...
And when a box comes up asking for a password just click "OK" (leave the password blank). That will allow you to enter in the yellow cells but prevent you from entering amounts into the green and purple (auto-calculated) cells.
If you only care about calculating item price and not S&H (or vice versa), you can hide the columns you're not interested in using. You do this by right-clicking on the column letter of the column you no longer wish to see and then choosing "Hide" from the list. To bring it back again select the colunmns surrounding the column you wish to see, right-click on their column letter, and click "Show".
Only about 10 items are included in the list by default, but you can add as many items as you like by copying and pasting the last row into a new row. To do this, right-click on the row number of a row that's already filled in and choose "Copy". This copies the entire row (including all of its formulas) into your clipboard. Then, right-click on the row number of a row that's blank and choose "Paste". You can also highlight many rows at a time and click "Paste" to paste in many new rows at once.
Edit Fee Rates worksheet
The "Edit Fee Rates" worksheet lets you edit all of the fee rates used by the calculator. First, it tells you today's date and lets you know if we're in a "Holiday" Period or not (which can affect your fees). You can then set these preferences controlling how the calculator operates:
• What period (Holiday or Non-Holiday) should be used in the Sales Log, Fee Chart, and Markup worksheets
• Whether or not to include a Listing Fee
• Whether or not to include Credit Card Processing Fees
You can then optionally edit all of the various PriceGrabber Storefronts fees and your credit card processor's fees. The default PayPal fee rate of 2.9% + $0.30 is filled in for you.
