eBay Fee Calculator Spreadsheet
Latest Version: 3.2
Last Updated: July 13, 2011
Works for:

This spreadsheet allows you to determine exactly what it will cost to sell an item on eBay and exactly how much profit you will make. You provide the calculator with the amount of your item and it will provide you with the exact amount of eBay fees and the exact amount of PayPal fees you would expect to pay if you sold an item on eBay for that amount. The fee calculator really gets into the nitty gritty and accounts for every last little thing that might affect your fees including what category you're selling in, what level of eBay Store you have, what format you are selling in, which listing upgrades you are using and so on. Each of which plays a factor in determining what fees you will pay. You can account for product costs, shipping costs, packing costs, insurance costs, pretty much any cost that you might be incurring as a seller to accurately determine your profit. You can also use it to compare the fees for Auction Style Format vs. Fixed Price Format to determine which is a better fit for your item. You can also use it as a break-even calculator to determine the minimum price you would need to sell your item for so that you don't unintentionally lose money from the sale.
It is a profit prediction and analysis tool to allow you to better judge whether a particular item is worth selling or not based on the potential profit you would receive.

I updated my eBay Motors Fee Calculator today. As I was looking over the fees page for eBay Motors I noticed that the fees you pay for vehicle listings are always fixed amounts and not percentages like on eBay.com, it's only in the Parts & Accessories category that percentages come into play. Since I get the feeling that most of the people who use my eBay Motors calculator use it for Parts & Accessories and not for vehicles, I changed it so that "Parts & Accessories" is now selected by default when you first load up the calculator.
I also made a few other minor changes to the calculator. I made sure my fee rates were up-to-date, I disabled the appropriate listing upgrades for Parts & Accessories (for example Motors Pro Pack and Listing Icon are for vehicles only, so they'll get greyed out if you select Parts & Accessories as your category), and I changed my "For Deposit Only" Paypal sub-option to become un-checked when you select Parts & Accessories. I also made it so that whatever price you type as your "Buy It Now" price gets mirrored into your Opening and Closing Price fields so you can more easily see the difference in fees between a Fixed Price Format listing and an Auction Style listing.

Here's my newest online tool, an eBay Motors Fee Calculator. If you've ever wondered how much it would cost to sell a vehicle or vehicle parts and accessories on eBay Motors, then this tool is for you. This calculator supports all of the different vehicle and listing types available on eBay Motors and includes a special option just for Parts & Accessories. You simply enter the price of your item and the calculator figures out what your fees would be and what you would receive after fees if you were to sell an item on eBay Motors for that amount. It includes options for all of the different eBay Motors listing upgrades, has a built-in series of editable fee rate tables, and can optionally include your PayPal fees as well. It also comes with a reverse fee calculator that can tell you what price to charge for your item or what amount to charge for shipping & handling to receive the amount you want after fees.
