eBay Fee Calculator Spreadsheet

Spreadsheets, eBay Tools 33 Comments »

This spreadsheet helps you calculate how much it would cost to sell on eBay. You simply enter the price of your item and you can see what your fees and profit would be in any of eBay's listing formats including Auction Format, "List 5 Free" Format, Fixed Price Format, Store Inventory Format, and Classified Ad Format. For advanced users, there is a way for you to reverse calculate your fees to determine what amount to charge for your item (or what to charge for S&H) to receive the amount you want after fees. You can keep a record of your sales using the included Sales Log worksheet or print out a chart showing what your fees would be for common amounts using the included Fees Chart worksheet. You can also reverse calculate price or S&H for a large number of items at once using bonus "Markup" worksheet. If eBay ever changes their fees in the future (or you want to calculate the fees for another service) you can edit all of the fee rates used by the spreadsheet using the included "Edit Fee Rates" worksheet.

eBay Fee Calculator Roundup (2001-2009)

Roundups No Comments »

Since releasing my web-based 2009 eBay Fee Calculator a few weeks ago I thought it would be a good idea to make a list of every other eBay fee calculator I could find just to see what else is out there and to show people all of their available options. Next to each calculator, I've also noted down who wrote it, when it was last updated, and which sections of eBay it supports. To make it easier to find calculators with up-to-date fee rates, I've also sorted them by date with the most recently updated ones at the top. If you know of an eBay fee calculator that's not on this list, leave a comment on this page and I'll add it.

Visual Basic Projects No Comments »

Here's the Visual Basic source code to the second version of my eBay fee calculator last updated on November 09, 2005. This is the successor to my first version, written on May 06, 2004. In this version, I tried to include every possible feature I could think of to make this a full and complete offline eBay fee calculator. I included support for single item auctions, multiple item auctions, reserve auctions, buy-it-now auctions, dutch auctions, eBay Stores, eBay Real Estate, eBay Motors and all of eBay's 2005 listing upgrades. I even added a feature where you could specify your own custom listing upgrades and their prices. Once you were done calculating your fees you could optionally add them into a fee log which could create a tally of all your fees for multiple items, and then save or print them for future reference. I probably spent about 3 months in total making this calculator, but since it was hard to update and maintain and so few people were actually using it I started making web-based versions as of August 2006. At some point in the future I may come back to this and update it with the latest eBay fee rates but it will take some time and I only want to do if there's enough demand for it. In the meantime, you can always use my latest web-based version which includes the new 2009 eBay fee rates.

eBay Fee Calculator v7.0 released

Fee Calculators, Web-Based Tools, eBay Tools 41 Comments »

eBay LogoToday I've just finished with the redesign of my eBay Fee Calculator. This is a free online tool I've made to allow people to easily calculate what their total eBay and PayPal fees would be to sell an item on eBay. You can also use it to reverse calculate your eBay fees to determine what amount you would need to sell your item for to receive the amount you want after fees. To learn more about selling on eBay, you can read eBay's help page How do I sell on eBay? or visit their official fees page for more info.
